If you do remove the stock, then yes it is only the one rear screw. I left my stock attached to the gun. I used blue painters tape to mask off the metal so it wouldn't get scratched. I also taped the edges of the buttplate. Doing this insures you don't round off the edges of the wood while sanding. ...

Once you get the sight, I recommend using some blue thread locker on the screw threads when you mount it. The sight on mine would work loose after a range session of fifty rounds or so. I didn't want to loose it, so I put a small amount of blue thread locker on it and haven't had a problem since.

There should be a screw about halfway down the forend. Unscrew it and the forend slides off, exposing the take down screw.

The one on mine looks like a sling mount, but it isn't.
