Rob, That is indeed a Krieger conversion. A standard 8/81 magazine will probably not fit correctly in that rifle. You'd need an original Krieger magazine or one modified in similar fashion to work. I was able to get some pictures this weekend of it.
my guess is its a Krieger Conv. as we are about 25 miles from mount clemens.
