My #8 is a 1912, .30 Rem. rifle. I took it apart and cleaned it up. I also replaced the recoil spring and buffer spring. Seeing how my rifle is 100 years old, with dirt, gunk and spring set, I didn’t want any metal to metal contact where there was none designed to be.

Clem, I can read dates, no need for sarcasm! This is simply a different way of skinning the same cat so I'll let you all know how well it works when I receive and try it. No sarcasm intended, just noting that it's been a while so the auction would of ended. The seller did relist the items, so there...

New owner of a 8

Greetings!
I just picked up a #8 that was made in 1912 and is in the .30 Remington.
It appears to be in pretty good shape but before it will be used, it will get a check-up.

I look foward from learning about these rifles from this group.
