I had to really reduce the picture quality, to get these last two pictures to load. By doing so, the pictures were distorted.

That is the lowest serial number that I've seen on a Model 8. If I remember collectly, ROBOPUMP has the highest serial number Model 8 known to exist. It appears to be the hammer end of the firing pin to me. The groove to the left in the picture, appears to be the groove/slot for the firing pin retaining pin, that holds the firing pin in place in the bolt carrier.
