Re: Some Quick Stock Questions (1949 '81)
Limbsaver makes a huge difference with shoulder. I even use it with 7mm & 300WM. Keep 2 in the range bag, different sizes. Had 2 stocks with the same chip, replaced one, glued the second back. Takes a very sharp eye to notice the glue line. Scape to blend the wood, sand very little, stain with F...

Coil thickness & cross section is way too big for 25R, perhaps some spring set in the right one. Way to define if they are alike: count coil wraps, measure cross section h x w. I do note they are slightly different in the corners of the coil wire. That could be the difference of when they were m...

Adam, I guarantee the 25R buffers is DIFFERENT than all the others. I think the 300S & the 35R are the same, from earlier research on the factory parts lists. There may be a difference in the 30R & 32R, not certain. I recall there are differences with the barrel sleeve recoil springs, BUT I ...

then see all calibers: 25 Rem, 30 Rem, 32 Rem, 300 Sav, 35 Rem. Yeah it takes a little longer, but it gets most of them.
I search on Gr D & got a 7600 & a M11, no excitement but there.

I concur with Luke, even the FBI brazed the shroud to the yoke, I suggest the smith will need to unscrew the shroud & prep the threads B4 brazing. Therefore He/She will need to be a professional with the machine tools to back it up. Not a job for a hand drill or a cheapo drill press.
