Re: The 566-example
Methinks someone has replaced the barrel jacket with one from a model 8. Good eyes Bandersnatch! So the rear sight maybe, but I don't think barrel assemblies between 8/81's and FN 1900's are interchangeable. The receivers are recessed differently for the takedown screw and jacket head. Great lookin...

Re: Address on FN receiver
I took a picture of the address and reworked each letters with the program Gimp and then, vectorized the letters with the program Inkscape. After that it went to the laser engraver shop.
I intend to do the rust bluing myself as well all the woodwork.

Re: Address on FN receiver
For a few years , I have been working on the restoration of my Carabine FN Browning 1900. The most difficult part have been, how to restore or reproduce the address on the receiver. For 5 years I research the web and asked questions on different forum. I finally came across something on Canadian Gun...

Re: FN information from old catalogues
There is an interesting detail on these catalogue page that is dedicated to only to the Carabine FN Browning 1900. The interesting detail is the mention in the caption of the carabine being presented at some shows (exposition in French in this case can be translated as show) starting in 1904 to 1911...

FN information from old catalogues
Hello everyone, I don’t know if you have these photos in your library. Perhaps they can be informative. The first photo of the FN is from the 1912 French catalogue ManuFrance. The second photo is the cover page of the catalogue. The third, I received from a Friend from Belgium but I don’t know the o...

Re: Removing safety detent ball
Thank you for your help. How about ''grinding'' the edge of the ramp or touching it with the zip cut.

Removing safety detent ball
Hello everyone, I am restoring a 1917 M8, S.N. 39291 and I have encountered a challenge. That is how to dismantle the safety detent ball and the front sight ramp on the barrel jacket. Does any one have experience with either of these parts. Thank you for your help http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/...

Re: FN 1900 with scope bracket, value issue
Thank you all of you,
Those are relevant answers that help me. I will keep you posted. The rifle is in Europe and it can take a long time to bring it to Canada. I have imported an Auto-5 from France and it took 6 months.

FN 1900 with scope bracket, value issue
Good evening gentleman I have been offered a carabine Browning FN 1900 that is in very good shape. My issue is that someone has installed a scope bracket. In your opinion what is the impact on the value of the carbine? Thank you http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac357/Wakefield1234/0642e0ae-c0fd-45...

Re: Proper stock for early model 8
Good evening, Here is the 1907 model 8 I was referring to. I managed to get information about the stock and buttplate (on the left in the picture). Now I am encountering some difficulties when I tried to assemble the barrel to the receiver. It appears that the front part of the bolt is turned sidewa...

Re: Proper stock for early model 8
Good evening, Thank you for this information. I will soon receive this model 8 and I will post pictures. The gun in question is indeed a straight grip grade A. This early model make it I believe a nice collectible. In any case it appears that all model 8 are collectible for aficionado. I greatly app...

Proper stock for early model 8
Good evening Lately I have acquired an early model 8 SN 29XX in caliber 30, the bolt is stamped 30-30. Unfortunately the stock is missing. Browsing your site and the web, I can't identify with certainty the appropriate wood stock for this model. It seems that there are several stock versions possibl...
