Re: gunbroker--problems
Gunbroker has redone things, which I don't really like. However, I have no trouble finding Model 8's and 81's so I will help you if I can. On the main page, there is a "Browse Categories" drop down menu. Scroll down to "Firearms." Then "Rifles" and finally "Semi Au...

I hit a bear with my Honda Accord last year, the more bear you guys take down the better!
(My car was fine, just needed a new hood and bumper cover. Driving slower than the speed limit and being alert saved the car, me, and the bear. I had full coverage).

I've been to both his website and his FB page and there is no number. Now on his website, there is a number to a place where he used to work.

The ski trip was a huge success but I didn't get on to Maine. I had a doc. appointment on the 13th but had I had a few more days I definitely would have pushed on into MN on the Model 8 hunt. I loved Killington Mtn. so much that I plan to return next year and then, hit Maine's pawn and gun shops.

I could be wrong but I think first-year production total was only 4 digits in serial number.
You bought a box of (20?) .35 Remington for less than $20.00? You did EXCEEDINGLY well there.

Bandersnatch, Both good and bad......my 1906 in .35 Rem has the curved extractor yet seems to extract just fine. Is the curved extractor just for (and always was for) the small calibers? One thing I have learned, don't be in a hurry if you can keep from it.
I'll try and get the whole set then, but it's on backorder right now at Brownell's.
The Model 8 I want to take apart is very minty and the convex pins are still convex.
