Re: A GREAT 8 Christmas 2017!!
I laughed my tail off when I saw those pics as I just watched that show yesterday--- so all those scenes are still very fresh in my mind. A classic-- hilarious! And thanks for the Biblical verses-- if everyone was a practicing Christian there would be a lot less problems in this world. Oh yeah...

Welcome Trem! Would that happen to be short for that great French/Canadian name Tremblay? It's cool that you have your Granddad and Great Granndad's guns. Do you still shoot them? What page is it on in J. Henwood's book?

I'm sure this has probably been asked before, but I cannot find it now. Where can I get a newly manufactured forearm for a Model 8?

I would love to attend such an event-- but with all the planned vacations and weddings this July it probably will be next to impossible. Hope everyone has a great time though!

Still a few books left....
Hi guys and gals! Just wanted to let you know that I still have a few copies of my book left from the original production run (around 25 or so). Not sure yet if I'll do another printing due to a fairly low profit margin. The book is called "Tremblays' Great Outdoor Adventures". It was writ...

Re: Hello from North Texas!
Welcome Harrison. So cool to have your Granddad's rifle! Those old guns are still taking deer, bear, and other game just as they did in the early 1900's. They're also just plain fun to shoot.

2016 Canadian Bear Hunt--He Shoots--He Scores!
2016 Canadian Bear Hunt—He shoots--He Scores! We just got back from a successful spring bear hunt which took place in and around the La Verendrye Provincial Park in Quebec. There were still patches of snow in the woods when we arrived and the ice had only recently gone from the lake. First night out...

Thanks 81 police!
Thanks 81 police! Great story! I never would have thought of Texas in the 1960's as being someplace you'd find a cabinet full of M8s at deer camp either. Here in Northern NY, they are not "rare"--but certainly not "common" either, due to their age. I've noticed that they seem to ...

LOVE STORIES: Your first model 8 (or 81)
What's the story behind your first Model 8 or 81? Mine goes like this...back in 1990, money was tight. I was using borrowed deer rifles or a shotgun with slugs for hunting deer. Then I noticed an ad in the "Free Trader": "Old deer rifle in fair condition". I decided to check it ...

New Book
Hi everybody! Ever wonder what kind of game and under what circumstances your Granddads and Great Granddads hunted in? I sure have-- so I've written a book about it... "Tremblays' Great Outdoor Adventures". It's about our hunting and fishing adventures over the generations. We hunted in No...

Thanks Sarge. You know I love hunting and fishing here in NY's North Country-- but Canada is superb! Will be headed up North with my Nephew in May for a spring bear hunt. And yep, it'll be with my old 35 Rem.

Re: hunting with Remington auto loader
Thanks Cam, for the very nice compliment! I guess everything about these old guns is cool 8-) Farthest shot I ever attempted with it was a buck at 160 yards-- perfect just behind the front shoulder hit, offhand with open sights, 200 grain Rem Core-Lokt. That says a LOT about these old guns and what ...

B&C buck with model 8 ?
I think I remember seeing one time (here?) that there is still a big Whitetail deer listed in the B&C record books which was taken by a Remington model 8 (back when they kept track of the guns that took trophy animals). Does anyone have any info on that? It would be fun to know.

New Book-- forgot to mention
I forgot to mention that in my book, in many chapters, the Model 8 is the star of the hunt! I started out deer hunting with borrowed rifles or a shotgun loaded with slugs. Then I saw an ad for "an old deer rifle in fair condition". Turned out to be a "Remington auto-loading rifle"...

new member from Northern NY
Hi--I'm Bruce from Northern NY. My model 8 story began back in 1990, when I picked up an old Remington Auto loading rifle (from 1910) in 35 Rem for $150. I shot a nice buck with it that fall-- and many more since, along with several bears. It has become my favorite gun! I've purchased one since then...
