Re: Model 81 on GB
I don't know if the stock is factory, but I have a Model 8 made in 1922 with the same compass in the same location as the one shown on GB.

Re: 6 Model 8s for sale at online/live auction
The D Grade sold for $3000.00 + a 5-15% buyers premium. I don't know but that seems pretty high.

After looking at the repair stamp magnified, it is a lightly struck W U with another W U over it. Thanks for confirming that it is a Krieger conversion.

32 REM Model 8 Krieger?
Recently acquired what I believe to be a 1922 32Rem Model 8 with what appears to be a Krieger conversion. Only thing I am not sure about is it only has one magazine side spring. Every thing else appears to be right including the milled barrel lock with snap ring. Magazine is engraved with rifles ser...

Re: Receiver Sight ID
Thanks for the Hatcher info. The sight in the Hatcher pic looks like a Redfield or Lyman sight. I also found a pic of an original US Army "Trials" Rifle in this post, http://thegreatmodel8.remingtonsociety.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=5332&sid=b47de87357e1db9dd0817a7a7872bbc0 (pi...

Model 81 Case ID & Value
Looking for help on who made the case I received with a 1940 Model 81. Came with Key and cleaning kit. Only markings on the case are shown in last pic. They are 260 and 81R I assume that means 26" case for 81 Remington. All the straps are intact. Any idea on a value would also be great. https:/...

1908 Model 8D With Leather Take Down Case
1908 Model 8D .35 REM With Leather Take Down Case by AL Furstnow. There are mailing/shipping labels on the back of the case but they unreadable. Wish it could talk. I don't believe the front sight is original. https://i.imgur.com/awdGA9e.jpg https://i.imgur.com/EUrX55g.jpg https://i.imgur.com/TsG52G...
