Re: New 30 Remington
Hi Mike. Sweet rifle! I likely couldn't have resisted either. It's outfitted nicely with an early scope. I'm sure that recoil is pleasant in that bolt gun. Whenever they appear online, I watch them. I'm not sure if I've seen more than 1 in person at a gun show. Even sweeter collection of 30 cal's! T...

Re: 1949 Mod 81 Kreiger with variable scope
Great looking rifle John, I REALLY like that scope setup!!! That's the first variable scope that Weaver came out with. In the little bit that I read on the KV scopes is that it's variable but not how most think, it's 2.75 or it's 5, not linear like later variables. Thats really neat, I like it! I as...

Here's a rifle that had spent some years in the hands of a well known Texas Ranger. Clint was born in 1910 and passed in 1992. Hard to fathom the changes and advancements that man had seen in his lifetime!!! I did a cursory search of him, sounds like he had quite the career. The photograph of him on...

Good eye catching it. Gotta line up the rear hole up, all the while squeezing that little spring and pushing the tab in the small machined cutout. One thing I didn't bring up in the post- There was what I assume to be fitter stamps " V " on all/nearly every part in the receiver.
With that I ask any of the 1900 owners here, what character/stamp did you see on yours?

I'm not familiar on the old compass, can't talk with certainty there. Perhaps it's Polychoke or even Pachmayr that made it. Compass in the stock is a takeaway on originality. It looks like it was done nice though and it's part of the guns history. Happy to hear that you're considering a more subtle ...

Nice looking rifle! I'd wager that's a Marbles compass. 1909 E Grade at auction
It's not too often one sells this cheap. It's even more uncommon for a high grade to have went under the knife "drilled and tapped" this much! A lot can happen to a rifle in 115 years. I can appreciate them drill and tapping the early shroud for the sling point and not using the forearm.ha...

Howdy gents. I hope that y'all had a good 2024 and an even better 2025! We know that 35 Rem was the only offering in 1906. 30 Rem " 30-30 REM" was introduced in 1907, a percentage of the rifles made in 1907 were hand engraved on shroud. Main thing I'm trying to figure out about is 32 Remin...

Concerning your issue- if it's not the snap cap or a dirty chamber. I would believe it's the extractor. Does the extractor look complete "not chipped?" Start with what is free and easy to do before trying to "manipulate" extractor to fix/troubleshoot the issue. I don't think it's...

Are you confident that the snap caps are sized appropriately?
Is it that particular snap cap, or is it any of them that happen to be last.

It's a shame navigation of rifles on g.b has become SO cluttered with criteria that's far from what you break the search down to be.
