Re: New 30 Remington

Hi Mike. Sweet rifle! I likely couldn't have resisted either. It's outfitted nicely with an early scope. I'm sure that recoil is pleasant in that bolt gun. Whenever they appear online, I watch them. I'm not sure if I've seen more than 1 in person at a gun show. Even sweeter collection of 30 cal's! T...

Re: 1949 Mod 81 Kreiger with variable scope

Great looking rifle John, I REALLY like that scope setup!!! That's the first variable scope that Weaver came out with. In the little bit that I read on the KV scopes is that it's variable but not how most think, it's 2.75 or it's 5, not linear like later variables. Thats really neat, I like it! I as...

Clint Peoples Model 81

Here's a rifle that had spent some years in the hands of a well known Texas Ranger. Clint was born in 1910 and passed in 1992. Good eye catching it. Gotta line up the rear hole up, all the while squeezing that little spring and pushing the tab in the small machined cutout. It's not too often one sells this cheap. It's even more uncommon for a high grade to have went under the knife "drilled and tapped" this much! A lot can happen to a rifle in 115 years. I can appreciate them drill and tapping the early shroud for the sling point and not using the forearm.ha...
