Nice pictures Dan.
Great to see you made the set! If I was to purchase another 1900, I'd want it to be without the rib.
Seeing the 1st and 2nd generation checkering- If i were a betting man I'd believe the buttplates are differ also.

629-1. Purchased it new in 1983 if I remember correctly. Non pined barrel and chambers are not recessed like the very first ones. Had it tapped back in the 90’s for a red dot and might be putting on a new style one soon. Burris fast fire 3’s are going pretty cheap these days and I know that I can h...

Re: Trade-81 rear sight for 8 rear sight
Good afternoon Long Recoil.
I might be interested. Here's my email, share pictures. Luke.hibbler83@gmail.com
I have the correct step elevators that goes with 81 sights I figured if I was trading for equal condition 8 rear sight, it was easier to keep my elevator.
Thanks.

Re: Trade-81 rear sight for 8 rear sight
Morning Carl.
I'm looking to trade my factory Remington Model 81 rear sights for factory Model 8 sights.
The Model 8 rear sight has the little flat adjustment plate at the rear that the 81 rear sight doesn't.
I'm trying to make rifles as factory correct as I can.

Here's the other piece "slide adjuster" that I'm looking for.
One pictured appears to have been filed some, has rough edges, and a little piece missing on one side. I'm looking to replace with a nicer* flat plate for my early stamped sight for my first year gun.
Thanks.

Howdy gents.
I'm looking for Model 8 rear sights. I'm also looking for the rear sight slide adjuster "if you happen to have a damaged sight" not the stepped elevator.
Pictured are 2 nice examples up for trade. I'm also up for purchasing outright.

No kidding, luck and something must've been in your corner to own more square* pistol butt rifles over round. No spare receivers in my small parts bin. Worse case you can use a standard receiver. Do it yourself/contract a gun-smith to fashion a thread boss so you can use that fancy stock set. You kn...

Perhaps measuring inside & outside diameters so you can search internet for an appropriate size tube stock, that would solve your issue.

I would suggest an immersion bath overnight/couple days in oil/diesel/kerosene or dealer's choice to help soak in, even a few treatments between wiith heat from a hair dryer won't hurt.
The sight appear to be factory true "not modified or fooled with?"

Hello jmm3.
Nice score on a clean 81.
The Redfield 102N needs an additional hole tapped to be mounted correctly.
I'd suggest a Lyman or Marbles tang peep sight. I like the Lyman as much or more than the Marbles. Good luck in your searches.
