I went back and found the post I had read about this. "Unseated fired primers on reloaded .35 Rem ammo? - thegreatmodel8.remingtonsociety.com" I also use that same round in my Marlin 336, which makes it hrd to determine which one is from which. Thank you for your advice on neck sizing as t...

Old Verses New 35rem chamber
I had heard some where that the 35rem chambers and therefore the sizing dies had a change. I'm trying to figure out when that change happened as I'm reloading for both my 1930 Model 8 and my 1956 Marlin 336. Any information will help as I'm planning on Black Bear hunting with my Remington?

Re: Hunting in the Adirondacks
My grandfather died in 1948, my father was 16. My grandmother didn't like guns so she sold it, but my father (who has passed in 2005) always talked about it being in the corner when he was little. So in 1995 I went on a search for one and acquired one in 35REM. I have inherited the Model 8 haven't t...

Hunting in the Adirondacks
This is my grandfather in the 1930s with his model 8 in 35 REM with the black bear he shot with it. He had a rug made out of it and my great aunt liked it so much that a couple years later he went back to the Remington Creek hunt in Wells NY and brought back a second bear for my great aunt. with 35R...
