Had a chance to handle this model 30 yesterday at the LGS, now 2 weeks of state jail time to bring it home. Rifle looked great in all ways. I have a vintage Redfield peep sight ready to screw on.
Should be a good shooter.

These laws are much easier to pass than to rescind. We are facing the same BS here in WA state. state govt is heavy dem, we havent had a Republican Gov here since the 1980's! One dem after another.

Yep and both the gun thing and the gas tax are still with us having survived several challenges. So much for getting help in the courts. At this point it will take a major ruling from SCOTUS to correct things and I aint gonna hold my breath. Since that time WA has now also passed a new law that will...

I picked up my new to me Remington 141 in .35 Remington today after a 2 week waiting period, yes we have that in Washington for all firearms now. Has anyone tried using those long squeeze handle clamps, maybe using the trigger guard and squeeze off the butt?
One could use a C clamp on the tangs or anything really to hold them together while squeezing the stock into place with the long clamp.

Re: Stock Installatiuon troubles...advice needed
Is this more a problem with the 81 as to the 8? I have two 8's right now, a .25 and a .32. The .25 has an aftermarket buttstock, but the .32 is original to the rifle, still has the SN in the tang slot. Having never had the stocks off before I decided to have a go at it. The .32 was on real good! I g...

I did snag a 141 in .35 Rem recently and got to handle it at the LGS yesterday, seemed to be in pretty fair shape, decent bore at least as well as I can tell in the shop. 24" barrel, way better than average figure in the wood. I look forward to shooting it, be about 16 days though with the 10 b...

Also after a good soak, and some heat, give it a couple of good whacks on the end with a block of wood, axe handle or similar to wake it up.

Re: Model 14 friends out there?
Am a fan of the pump guns and the .32 Rem, currently own a model 8 in .32 and a .25 as well.
I did once have a 141 in .32 and I recall it shot well, but the Rem 8 probably a little better.
Been working on getting a 141 in .35 Rem, have everything I need but the rifle! Will soon rectify that.

Factory repairs
I seem to remember reading somewhere, maybe here, maybe in the Model 8 book, that when a Model 8 was sent to Rem for repairs, in the time when the 81 was in production, that they might upgrade that model 8 to an 81 configuration.
Sound plausible or am I misremembering things in my aging brain?

It could be traded for with that stock or other parts or money.

Took the range again today, this time loads using IMR 4895, same Speer bullet. Also now wears a Lyman tang sight with the folding inner peep, works great.
Loads at 50 yds varied from an inch to maybe 1.5". This is a sweet shooter!
