Update here. I ended up buying a new spring from the gunsmith on ebay. As suspected the original spring was cut or broken by 1.5" I can say the new springs are well made and have nice finished ends to them. Highly recommend replacing your worn out springs with these well made new ones. Also aga...

I would check the website in the next few weeks. I was impressed by the descriptions given on the guns from the last auction. Most auction houses descriptions are lackluster, not the case with Wards. I'd advise against trying to contact Rem8&81 through the forum considering he hasn't signed on ...

I did see that residue of varnish on sides of butt plate and figured possibly they varnished it with butt plate in place ??? Any thoughts or definitely an added coat. It certainly wasn’t sanded !!
