I looked again and there is nothing on the barrel right in front of the receiver on the left side. Only what looks like RP on the right side in that same location.
Serial # is 5 digits 35**1 can provide more if needed also.

I had a customer bring by a garage sale find (according to his wife that bought it as a BB gun) I know it is a Model 8 from the looks but it doesn't say so I have attached several photos as I an not an expert in this particular firearm. Google will only give so much and I know when to consult people...
