Our business host 4 "Traditional" style hunts per year where the situations are set up to make it successful for open sighted rifles, muzzleloaders and handguns and in some case longbow and recurve bows. One is always a boar hunt and the other a whitetail deer hunt. I either use my M8 (35 ...

I loaded some 170 grain Nosler Partitions in my 300 Savage Model 81. I also had Grizzly Cartridge Company load me some 360 DW ammo for my sons rifle, a Win 94 carbine in that caliber. Re: Hornady Leverevolution case length and safety revisited
After re-reading your first post and your second I think we are agreeing to an extent. What we found with the shorter length brass LE cases is that they require a crimp in order to have a consistent load. In a micro-scenario, the primer pushes the powder forward before it reaches thermal critial mas...

Re: Hornady Leverevolution case length and safety revisited
The problem with reloading is with the powder charge in the shorter brass. If you seat a bullet to the cannelure you are taking up more case capacity in the shorter brass, potentially compressing the powder depending on the load. If you seat the bullet out so the groove is above the short case you w...

The literature I've read says my Rem 8 from 1909 in 35 Rem should hold 4 or 5 rounds. My 81 in 300 Sav holds 5, I know that.
