Re: Garand scabbard
I have a Grand scabbard with a stamp "Boyt 42" on it I don't know what it is worth. It has all original straps, but would take a lot of oil to get it back in shape.

Re: Reloading lead bullits for the 30 Remington. Model 8
I have given up on getting accurate lead bullets loads for my M8. I loaded/shot 165gr RN/FP (.309) with 29.5 gr 4320. They produced a shot gun pattern about 12" dia. (This was the same results with 4831.) I checked using my jacked bullet load and got a 1" pattern. So it wasnt a rifle probl...

Re: Reloading lead bullits for the 30 Remington. Model 8
I did find that the bullet configuration does make a difference in the Model 8, 30 Remington. (Using 32.5gr H4831). I had been using Sierra 170gr. FN Spitzer boat tails with poor accuracy. Lucky to get a group of 12" at 25 yds. I ran out of these and made some Nosler 170gr. FN Nosler Spizer bul...

Re: Reloading for 30 Remington.
What a small world it is. I also love to shoot my Model 8, but am having trouble with the sights. (They dont seem to be able to focus.) I have a tang sight comming to see if that helps focus. Other wise I will have to go to optics.
Where would one get 150 gr round nose bullets?.

Re: Reloading for 30 Remington.
I was wondering if anyone had some favorite or accurate loads. I use the 30-30 data. So far I have loaded 170 gr bullets with 32 gr 4831. Its my first load.

Re: New on this forum-- I just got an old model 8 up and running
I started Loading 30 Rem for my Model 8. It took about 6 months to get it together. I ordered 100 RDs of brass. I located some dies. Discovered that loading data if for 30-30, which is easy to find. I allready had 4831 powder that I used for loading .270. so being a tight wad I deciced to use it. Us...
