Hello!
My first post here. I've got two Model 81s. Both in .300 Savage. One has been drilled for a side mounted scope. Does anyone have an idea what scope mount this could have been? I'll attempt to post a picture.

No Idea. But I've got you beat. I picked up this Model 81 in 300 Savage last week with five holes in that area plus five smaller ones below for yet another mount.

It looks like a Weaver or Williams Sidemount will work. The Williams has four hole, but if the spacing is correct you could use three screws. I have both mounts on guns, so if you will measure the hole spacing and post it, I can check and see if either mount will work on your gun.
