Guys,
I am just following up this post to update info. When I removed the spring, all was well. It looks like original to the magazine, but of course I'll never know for sure it's not like the springs were serial numbered.
And, of course, what should happen as I was gently wiping away grease and grime from the "folds" of the center of the spring, but of course it snapped right in half.
I posted a WTB for a replacement, and Roger and Jeff helped me locate another one - soon as the GB auction closes tonight, it should be mine. (Don't nobody else outbid me please - I need this spring!!

)
Anyway, I've been crazy busy at work jumping through hoops as usual with my 6th graders. If only the upper administration would take a break from putting so many counterproductive, expensive, redundant, time-killing initiatives in place I might actually enjoy teaching once more.
Man, those days are few and far between - because I really enjoy teaching when given the chance! I hate to say it that way, but it's so dang political that it's not even funny.
I'm sure you all know by now I'm not a "company man" district schoolteacher, if anything I try my darndest to make sure the kids get the real facts straight from the American history lessons. Most what I do is follow the pacing guide for our grade level history instruction, but I try to add in the missing elements that make it more powerful and/or interesting for the kids.
Sorry to go off on a rambling tangent, I should have made a separate post. I'll do that!
Basically, this ramble was meant to illustrate why I have no personal time until vacation every year. The school district provides us in the k-6 schools with no honest planning time during the school day - we are forced to work very late and mostly take loads of work home to finish.
Tell you what, this summer I'm wasting no time and going to get right into my guns, that's for sure! I owe Roger some pictures and shooting reports from the rifle he sold me!!
thanks for your patience -
Adam
