Component stampings model 81

I just received my first 81, serial number 42091. I pulled the butt plate and fore-end expecting to see the serial number stamped on these components but it was not there that I could find. Was this practice discontinued from the model 8 to the model 81? Thanks

Ted,

On mid-late production 81's the stamping of the serial number on various parts was probably intermittent at best. Not finding the serial number where you looked is normal.
