I guess I need a M8 in .25 cal

Post by Levallois »

So I was cleaning around the gun room and looking at the old ammo I've accumulated over the years and I found 5 boxes of .25 Remington! 2 Remington, 2 Winchester and 1 Peters plus a bag of bullets that I assume are 117gr. Apparently I was planning on getting a rifle in this caliber. This discovery rekindled my interest in M8s. I've owned two M8s in .30 and one in .35. I've kept one of the .30s and used to shoot it occasionally but foolishly sold the rest. I've also owned three M14- 14 1/2s and only have the 14 1/2 carbine in 38wcf left. Anyway, it's time to accumulate again and I'm intrigued by the .25. Never owned one. I know these are rarer than the others so what should I expect to pay. Just a look on GB suggests $600-1000 which seems like alot? Would gun shows be cheaper on average? Thanks for the help!

Sir, there's one listed on gunbroker.com right now. It ends friday. I don't know the auction #. It's only at 300.00 right now. It's a little rough, but prolly worth more than 300.00. Maybe you should take a look for it. Just a suggestion in case you're not worried about getting some mint example.
Thanks for your time,
Roger

Thanks Roger. Saw that one. It's not that bad for a shooter and i like the price but the dents in the sleeve bother me.
