Hey guys.
In the process of refreshing my old 8, which is a hybrid of sorts, I'd like to know at what point in time Remington added the adjustment or locking screw to the "stepped" rear sight leaf.
I believe the one I traded with Carl, which has the screw, is likely from an 81, not an 8. They look identical, but from what I've seen it appears that the 81 rear sight was updated with this set screw.
What say ye, oh keepers of the 8 and 81?
I can add pics later to show what feature I am talking about.
Thank you
Adam

Just for the record, I am totally satisfied with the sight as it is - don't plan on trading it for another!
My observation regarding the addition of the keeper screw was all I was writing about. I think it's going to look great shortly, once I reblue this gun and reassemble it in the weeks ahead!
