Front sight

New to this and hope someone can help out - Have a Model 8 I inherited from Dad but it passed through several hands on its way to mine and arrived without front sight. I handed it over to a local gunsmith who came up with one of two parts. I have the actual sight but need a base to attach it to the barrel shroud and he couldn't find one. Anyone out there have experience with this or know where to go to get the base part? EW-mail me if you can help - mknowlt1@yahoo.com
