Now those are interesting, takes me back to youth and trying to build steam powered toy out of scraps and pieces salvaged from local dump, great fun but could not control steam pressure well and efforts usually self destructed, wonder someone did not get hurt, great fun trying.

Pitchy,
Beautiful workmanship on the steam engines.
My grandkids need folk art pieces; appreciation for a simpler time.
What's the story on the '76?

Enjoyed all of them Pitchy. Kept wondering what the sparkles were in the one of the ship in the tank. Duh! snowflakes!!! Not often encountered down here. And what an outfit when you were doing the shooting. Great looking coat.

When I was a little twerp back in the 50's I had an uncle who built scale model steam locomotives as a hobby. He lived in a town in Nebraska with other steam enthusiasts. They built a track around the town for the locomotive and cars, which were large enough little kids could ride on the cars. One of my childhood memories is riding on a car while he was up front on the locomotive. There were several other kids on other cars. I wish I had movies of this but do not.
The last locomotive he built was about 3' feet long if I remember correctly. He talked about the precision machining involved to allow for heat expansion. He is gone now but I will always remember how much he enjoyed working with steam.
Thanks for bringing back the memory.
