Hi,
I'm In The Ten Ring and I have really come to love these rifles in about the space of 2 weeks.
I first saw one in a gun shop about the spring of 2008 but had no idea what it was. I think it was an 81 but I didn't know enough to be interested then. Looking back, I should have gotten it. It was in .300 Savage too.
Anyway, I figure joining here would help me more than anything else....right now I seek a .300 Savage and a .35 Remington. And for sure I'd need reloading help as the other calibers aren't factory loaded anymore (as far as I can tell).
*I love the Browning Auto 5 (I have two) and this rifle looks to be its sibling.
New here, hello everyone!

Hey In The Ten Ring we're very glad to have ya!
Be careful, we have a term here called "Jackitis" named after a member...once you get "jackitis" the urge to purchase additional 8's or 81's becomes irresistible.

Hey In The Ten Ring,
Welome to the forum. We are glad you found us and we hope to b e able to answer ashy questions you may have about the wonderful rifles. I think you are definitely a candidate for "jackitis".
I would be very careful when you see one for sale because before you can say no, it will be under your arm and out the door.
I would say that the rifle would not be considered a sibling to the A-5's but rather the Father of the A-5 since it preceded the A-5 and was the basis for the A-5.
Regards,
