Grandpa's Model 8 in .35 Remington
Grandpa's Model 8 in .35 Remington
This was my granddad's deer rifle, SN 160. It's seen a lot of use in the wet Pacific Northwest, but seems to be in fine mechanical shape. I took it apart and spent some time cleaning it, and managed to free up the stuck ejector by beating on it with a nail set. There are a couple hairline checks in the wood; one on the front grip, and one on the stock starting at the neck.

great family heirloom! For its age that is a good looking rifle, amazing to see it's still all original and even has decent "cheeks" left in the stock. It was took care of for sure.

Great example of an early, well cared for, 3 digit gun. I could only wish mine was as nice.

Wow, that's a beauty! Have you shot her at all?

I've put a dozen rounds through it. The first few with the ejector stuck and the rounds not clearing. It works pretty well now, although I just tested its autoloading ability. It still has to get sighted in. I would really like to try hunting blacktail with it. Out of the rain.
