Someone else with more know-how will chime in but I would try cyano acrylic glue for that. I think "Super Glue" is the same thing.
After it's glued you may want to use a dollar bill or the ink method to see if the handguard is contacting the barrel assembly. If so, you could relieve some wood on the inside with light sanding. That might be the cause of the crack. Anyone?
I love the looks of the finish and the vintage ammo is a bonus.
Wait a minute! Hold the phone! Does that serial end in "666?" I would LOVE to have such a serial number. That way I could say, "this deer was killed by Satan's Hammer."
