howdy from central texas
Guess i should have said hello first, instead of asking for help. cart before the horse. I have shot a model 8 since 1954, in 30 rem. was grandpas and i love to shoot it. have acquired several more since then, have al of the calibers, 25, 30, 32 and 35. Will get some pictures soon, as one of the 30's has a weird safety, a strap has been riveted to the safety lever, so you can push it with the tip of the thumb to go off safe, works good.only have one each of the variations except the 30' s have 3 of them. also have ammo for all calibers, but only two or three boxes each. just bought a barrell nut wrench, off ebay.

I'm relatively new to Model-8s, so I am eagerly waiting to listen to your experiences with 'em.
I had a .32 cal. 30+ years ago but didn't shoot it much and just wasn't as interested in it as the .35 cal. one I have now.

Howdy texjack706! You've got a few fellow Texan members on here (myself included). We're glad to have you.
If you're able to post a picture of your modified safety lever we can probably ID it. From the sound of it though, I'm guessing it's a "Willette" safety, a custom lever arm designed by Albert Willette.

I have a question. If little Jimmy left his home in Iola with $400.00 cash, a sandwich & two apple's. Then, he traveled the 25 miles to the College Station area. During his trip, little Jimmy ate his sandwich & one of the apple's. On the trip back home, little Jimmy came a upon a gun shop that had a "Pristine Remington Model 11 Special Police Shotgun that was on sale for $400.00, which included the sales tax.
Here's my question: When little Jimmy arrived back home, how many apple's did he have left, how many miles did he travel during his trip and did he purchase the Pristine Remington Model 11 Special Police Shotgun?

He doesn't know it is a good buy and waits on a prisine model 8 at that price.

This sounds like an Aggie joke. S & S Bob won't know what that means.
I don't have $400.00. Spent all my money on cellphone antennas.

I bought some of those cell phone antenna's too.
Jim,
1.) Did you hear about the Cessna Airplane that crashed in a cemetery in College Station? Aggie search and rescue workers have recovered 300 bodies so far and they are still digging!
2.) Did you hear about the skeleton they found in a closet in one of the dorms at A&M? It was the 1963 hide-and-go seek champion!
3.) Why can't Texas Aggie farmers raise chickens? They plant the eggs too deep!
Jim, You know I appreciate you brother. Thanks for the great response!

How do you find an aggie on an offshore oil platform? He is the guy throwing breadcrumbs to the helicopter.
On the other hand! What do you call the aggie at your work? Boss.
I used to know a guy that made these up years ago.
