Barrell assembly

Post by texjack706 »

Got my barrell nut wrench today, it worked fine, i dissassemble the 25 rem and found an extra part in the jacket assembly. behind the buffer spring was a flat washer that matches the diameter of the buffer and is about 1/16 inch thick. the buffer spring meets the demensions given in the parts brakedown, for length and diameter. It is also a lighter spring than in the 30,as would be expected, since they are different part numbers. My question is , what is the washer for?? It is not in the parts breakdown. There are no washers like this in any of my other rifles.
