Some decent groups, now to reload?

Hopefully I can post these pics.
6 shot group is 2.25"
3 shot group is 1.25"
50 yards with a 40 mph wind mostly oncoming.
Peep sights with a loaner small aperture.

Some of the cases cracked. Do you think it is OK to load the others?

Though you didn`t state I am going to assume that you had some with split necks. It would not be advisable to reload any from that box that did not split. Again,assuming these were old factory loads the split necks are a sure sign that the brass is brittle and weak and a reloading cycle would only raise the possibility of case failure. I have described the problem I had with some old factory 30 Rem ammunition that sounds the same as yours with the 32 ammo. Instead of shooting it I pulled the bullets and annealed the necks and reloaded the pulled bullets. No more splits. The brass is too expensive to waste with one time firing.

Cases split from both types I have fired. Cabelas Obsolete line with no head stamp, and CMA with 38-55 head stamps.
I have already fired all of the CMA stuff.
I have one full box of the Cabelas left and one full factory box of Remington from maybe the 1950's.

This is one of the reasons I am considering tooling up to make my own.

The rifle I have is in very good shape and likely was fired very little before I bought it.

I tore down the barrel after the last range session. I was very easy to get apart to my surprise. No rust or gunk inside either.
A little harder to get back together, but not too bad once I made a tool.

Well.....again I`m assuming that we are talking about neck splits. Not familiar with either of the brands of ammo you are shooting but with the empty cases you have ,that are not split ,the annealing of the necks and neck resizing should help. Try a few of the old Remington ammo.If they spilt at the neck stop before you destroy any more brass,pull the bullets and do the same process.

Yes, sorry neck splits for sure. 3 out of 25 split.

Is your gun chambered in 35? those necks look wider then 32, and the ring on the tops of the necks makes me to think the case is exspanding passed the throat

The package of ammo even warned some will crack and it is normal and not under any warranty.

The gun's bolt is stamped .32 Rem, so I think it is.
I don't think it would be that accurate in a larger barrel either.
The gun looks almost new.

I finally got around to reloading a few.
Four look OK, but two I kind of mushed the shoulder.

I annealed 22 cases from one batch.

Roll or taper crimp? That is the big question.
I assume these head space like any auto, on the mouth, so taper crimp?

I always taper crimp the ammo destined for a magazine rifle. Tube mags need a roll crimp.

I finally fired some of my own reloads. None cracked. About a 4.5" group with the flyer, 3" without it.
Ignore anything below the center horizontal line. Four were the reloads, four were the Cabelas obsolete line. Open sights. Williams peep.

Picked up some 30remington brass at a gun show, I could tell it was vary old, but when you fined it you buy it and hope for the best, good luck to you and keep on shooting !!!!
