Hello, Your model 8 receiver previously had a Weaver #4 side mount base ($12-$20 w/S+H) attached to the receiver. The Weaver #4 base accommodates the Weaver Detachable Side Mount with 1" Rings ($27-35 w/S+H). This is the easiest scope mount set-up to find for the Remington model 8 & 81's and it is a very nice set up for hunting. Both pieces are available on ebay now. Pictures Attached.
