Hello fellas...i finally worked up some handloads for my 1936 model 81 30 rem
Ive tried some 155gn lead and some 170 speer hcfn
Lead so far not working action but tight groups..speer tight groups as well but they both like to shoot left 3 inches or so at 50 yrds
Are there any adjustments on the factory sights that i might try
Sure love this old beauty...thx in advance for any tips..

Re: Sights
Hey Cptn Jack, sights for the 8/81 are just like any other period firearm. Factory rear sights are elevation adjustable, and dovetailed front sights windage adjustable. Just be careful if you decide to drift the front sight you don't want to break off the sight block from the jacket head!

Re: Sights
My way of preventing a front sight block breakage while drifting is taking a spring loaded clothespin, gluing it, straighten the angle on the inside to fit between the jacket and the sight as well as reducing the height so the jacket sits flat on a table.
