Uncooperative follower

Stupid question: I have two magazines, thanks to chas1949.

Just for the fun of it, I took the follower+spring of the which has both (un-numbered) and put them in the other one (with serial number on it). But it does not seem to lock itself in place. How is the follower kept in the magazine?

After posting I realized that's what the two top notches just ahead of the reinforcing grooves are. I mean, now I know what to look for, they arr quite obvious in the picture I posted.

So, just another newbie question. Carry on!
