safety lever w/screw

When did these appear on these rifles? Was it early pre M8s or later rifles. I recently acquired a nice M81 with this style lever. Could this be OEM?

The safety w/ screw was a gradual introduction, starting in early 1928 (according to Henwood). This safety and the previous style w/out screw were used concurrently in production however, as you'll find late production 8's and Model 81's with both.
