My Model 8 in .35 is one of my favorite rifles.
I killed this doe yesterday.
81 yards
180 Speer at about 2200 fps. The bullet penetrated about 18 inches. Exit wound was 2 inches wide.
Still in the field at 96 years old

that is a nice deer, nice gun, and you made a good shot! any deer with open sights is a trophy! I have killed several with my 8s and 81 they are fun just to tote in the woods. glad to see they are still alive,,,,,,,,,,
I have never harvested an animal, but I have killed quite a few.............
