is this checkering correct?

I need a little help, is the checkering pattern correct or has it been added?

I'm pretty sure ours, my brother and I as this was Dad's, is correct as the stock is marked inside as an 8 C which was a higher grade of wood and checkered, probably a standard pattern. I doubt if Remington would have checkered up to the takedown swivel screw.

olskool for some reason your photos aren't showing, except for the buttstock photo. My opinion, it is not factory checkering

However, the checkering on Kenhwind's is factory work no doubt.

thanks Cam, I didn't think it was. when I told the man selling it I didn't think it was factory he told me he sold one 2 months ago just like it! I knew then the odds of him having 2 factory original checkering cut guns was bull! he probably has some ocean front property in Arizona for sale also,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I would Cam but to be honest I think he is not trying to be truthful. I mean he told me he sold one just like it with the same checkering pattern 2 months ago, come on what is the odds he has ever had two with checkering much less two with that pattern. he can keep it,,,,,,,,,,,,
