Greetings! If I could get some opinions on this late Model 8, I acquired it from a long time friend who is not a gun guy, it was his uncles. Apologies, but I am a Winchester collector, so a bit in the dark on these. I believe it has been refinished, but it’s a very nice job, great condition. And it was free.

What is the chambering? What is it's date of manufacture?
From what I see in the two photos, it looks like you have a very nice Model 8, for a really nice price . Refinished, but again, it looks nice from the photo.
There is lots of information on this site, and lots of knowledge with the guys on this forum.

When you get a chance check the production numbers. These are more rare than 95% of the winchesters.

A date code of DB would make it a September 1933 manufacture.
