M81 on gun broker
M81 on gun broker
Description of this rifle states removable mag and pictures show the mag extending below trigger guard.
There are no side springs on mag, the safety lever is over traveled off of detent ball because the screw is not in the mag to limit travel. Also the mag indicator does not appear to have been modified to hold it in place with mag removed.
There is also no mag release on the trigger guard.
Re: M81 on gun broker
Sir, I tend to agree with everything you said. I wouldn’t touch this rifle with a ten foot pole.It also has non factory checkering. Thanks for your time

Roger,
Thank you for your thoughts on this item. I am also in agreement with regard to the checkering. This however was the least of my concerns as the price was getting way out of hand.

I have requested the seller to pot additional pics of magazine removed and of mag release.
Nothing added to GB posting at this time.

Excellent observations fellas. This detachable magazine configuration is not a one-off, but it is rare. I don't know did them, I've always just called them the "6-Round magazine conversion". There are 3 rifles (all Model 81's) that I know of and are constructed basically the same.
