Hey guys. Adam Lee here again, after a very long hiatus.
I had posted recently about bringing my 1945 Model 81 Krieger back to life, in the meantime I am tinkering with a few other Remingtons and my old Marlin 336-A.
This old model 14 is a 1923 I believe - I probably posted about it here many years ago. Anyway, it's in the orphan .32 Remington and besides being refinished at some point in its life, it is in "original appearance" condition. Shoots pretty good, but the thing that's such a bear about the .32 when it comes to reloading for it, that bullet profile is not readily found in the round nose profile which feeds well in this thing.
Just thought I'd see how other folks are doing with their 14's and/or .32 Remington reloading!
Be well.

Howdy Adam.
A fellow forum member talked about this company in the past. I personally haven't used them but have heard great reviews.
They're the only place I know one can get round nose hunting bullets in that weight and diameter.

Best of luck with the slickest slide action around!

I'm a fan of the 14 and 141.
Here's my late production 14 chambered in 35 Rem.
I have read a bunch on them from the sister site "Remington Society" and learned that we should stick with round nose profile bullets.

Re: Model 14 friends out there?
Thanks for the info on finding .32 RN bullets. Nice 14 you have there!
I would love to locate a 14 or a 141 in .35 Rem. One day, perhaps!
Be well.

Adam,
Good to hear from ya again. I had one 2, had the same issue feeding. VERY persnickedy, shot well, was in good condition. I just found the M8-81 & 760 are more likely to enjoy my loads. It sold well, nearly doubled my investment.
Cranky ladies are like it says in Solomon's words, enough to move ya to the corner of the roof....

The deer I posted in 2024 under "Hunting with the Model 8/81 was shot with a Hawk bullet. They are expensive, but good bullets.

Re: Model 14 friends out there?
I’ve got 3 141’s and a 14. Excellent shooters. I use Hornady or Speer .321” bullets and have good luck with them in my 141 and 81 in 32 Rem. Stay far away from the Hornady FTX in the 14’s and 141’s. They jam in the mag tube. I do trim the 32 Rem cases slightly shorter than spec to keep the cartridge OAL length proper to feed it h my 141. Been doing it for years. And I use a custom Lee Factory Crimp die so to not crumple these valuable cases whilst crimping with the seating die. Every fall i watch Midways website and Grafs to snag some of these bullets. They are only made seasonally . Thank goodness for the shooters of the 32 Winchester Special or us rifle loonies who shoot the 32 Rem would be screwed!

Good to hear you keeping your 32 Rem reloading alive as well, Mike.Mikeshoe72 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 24, 2025 9:19 am I’ve got 3 141’s and a 14. Excellent shooters. Would you share the profile of bullets you are getting with the Hornady or Speer in .321? Seems like I'm not lucky finding them at the right time.
I only have an old-school Lee Hand Loader in .32 Win Special. Soon I will update to an actual die set, again - waiting till I have the right timing for when they are available/on sale. I can't recall, it was recommended to me to use a particular die set - can't recall if it was RCBS or who but that's another tangent.
Lately, I've been working with a few hundred original bullets pulled from original 32 Rem ammo from the 1914-1920 period to reload. I dump out the old 110 year old powder, knock out the old primers, and reload the original cases without annealing. It has been working for me!

Re: Model 14 friends out there?
Nothing special about them. Just round nose and flat nose for the Speer. Both 170 gr .321”. Midway has the Hornady’s in stock now. As does Grafs. Speer seems to out of stock . I use Redding dies for the 32 Rem. Very nice dies. And ofcourse the previously mentioned Lee crimp die. And like I said earlier, trim the cases just short enough to keep cartridges OAL to original 32 REM specs so they feed from the magazine. In the 81, it’s not a problem. As for brass, buy when you find it. I scored some from Grafs a couple years back when they had a batch made, i scored some vintage 1960’s Western 32 Rem brass off Gunbroker awhile back and even splurged and bought two boxes of 1960’s Winchester ammo a couple years ago. (Paid way too much for it, buts it’s rare these days.) I’m a headstamp snob, I don’t like using 30 REM brass to make 32’s, and I’ve got hundreds of 30 Rem cases, but also 6 30 Rem caliber rifles to feed! I like original caliber designations. So, buy when you see it. Who knows how long 321” bullets will be around.
