Is your name Hall ???

Post by 54bullseye »

Here is an old relic that I bet could tell some stories !! Especially if your name is HALL !! Not sure what the dots on righthand side of stock are maybe deer count ?? Has a really nice set of Marbles sights. A # 2 front sight and a really neat buckhorn style Marbles in back. Gun shoulders nice with great sight picture which I can actually see with out glasses !

Also a cool old wide sling that's in nice shape. The gun was made in 1909 with a nice round knob pistol grip. It has seen added coats of finish but not sanded as wood is nicely proud to wood.

A cool old inexpensive model 8 that I am sure has a cool history that would be a ball to hunt with especially if your name is HALL. Oh yeah it is marked with
30-30 rem which makes it even cooler !!!

Thanks for looking ! John Taylor

Interesting rifle you have there, John.

That full buckhorn rear sight is almost a full peep sight.

Sweet rifle, the full buckhorn puts that beauty over the top! Lots of character there.

Nice find John!

Good looking early round knob with character and cool sights. Even though it shows a bit of use, the wood and blue still look pretty damn good for 116 years old.

Thanks for the compliments!! That rear sight is one that I never saw before and it gives a great sight picture. Also thanks to Hibby for pointing that gun or to me it was only around 45 miles from my house. John Taylor

Hey John, my name isn’t Hall, but I have always loved the 30/30 round knobs. Very scarce sight on a model8.
