Howdy Rhighno.

I think you got a sweet early autoloader. The checkering likely would've peaked my interest before the tang peep sight.

What you have is an early 1909 production Autoloading Rifle, not called a Model 8 yet. The early 25's were stamped 25-35, your's appears correct. It wasn't until the mid* 1920's that the guns had the stamping on the left of the receiver.

I'd like to see pictures showing off the checkering! You may have a factory checkered standard grade or even a #3/C special grade.

Chek this part of the website out.

Nice! I say that's factory checkering with certainty.

Sir, the checkering appears factory original. However it is hard to tell if this is a standard Agrade with checkering, or a Cgrade. English walnut would have been used on a Cgrade, American walnut on an Agrade. It’s hard to tell from the pictures, most Cgrade that I’ve seen though, have more interesting grain patterns. Either way it’s a real rare piece. You are real lucky to have found and purchased it
Thanks for your time

Yes I'm pretty pleased with it so far..... I keep seeing more and more interesting things about. The lack of any markings other than serial number and patent date seemed odd to me .the patent date is July 3 also not June 3 like some others I've seen pictures

Hi rhighno
I just saw this post ! Don't know how I missed it but in my opinion that is 100 percent a C grade. Checkering on an A grade is bigger less lines per inch I believe. Pretty hard to count the lines in a picture. Here are a few pictures of an early A grade in 30-30 rem. The spacing looks bigger to me. Nice gun anyway !!! John Taylor

I just recieved my new issue of RSA Journal. This has a fantasitc write up about the .25 Remington in Springpoles. Super cool to see the 25-35.
