Sold Sold Sold Price Reduction to $1000 from $1200 Remington 8 .25 Remington 1911

Post by Hardrada55 »

SOLD! SOLD! SOLD! Price reduction! I'm getting old and need to start winnowing some of my collection. Was $1200 now $1000. Heads up forum members! I would like to sell my 1911 vintage Remington model 8 autoloading rifle chambered in .25 Remington for $1000 plus actual shipping costs. It has a nice peep sight. Nice shape, rare butt plate, extra holes in the wood from where sling was installed. Production in early 1911, repair code OZ3 which is July, 1931. Probably factory re-blue at that time. Shipped to FFL or C&R. No sales out of USA.

Sir, It appears that this rifle has the scarce rifle type buttplate. Some members here may not know how rare that plate is. Looks to be a good solid 25 REM. M8.
Someone here should buy it. I’m only buying checkered model 8s now. Otherwise I would buy it myself.
Thanks for your time

Looks good.

Tempting, I only own one 25 Rem and it was refinished "professionally". I believe it has a CBR stock set.

Trigger guard serial # matches the gun? Does the barrel assembly have the serial number?

I don't know if the trigger guard serial matches, but the barrel matches the receiver. The only thing bad about this gun is that someone drilled holes in the bottom of the forearm and stock to mount now long gone sling swivels.

How is the bore on this rifle and can you confirm the stock and butt plate are original to gun? I am interested. Thanks

The bore of the barrel has good rifling but shows signs of having been shot with corrosive ammo. I do not know to what extent the bore would "clean up". The gun stock and buttplate are as they were when I purchased it, so I can neither confirm or deny whether the stock and buttplate are original to the gun itself. Though my personal belief is that they are original to the gun.

I'm within easy driving distance of Duncan. I would prefer a USPS Money Order. Let me know what you want to do.

If you are close, I would like to look at the rifle in person at your time and convenience and pay cash. I live between Duncan and Marlow. If you would like to discuss my number is 467 7020. Thanks

I saw that I did not put my area code on my phone number, it is 580 467 7020. I can travel to you to look at the rifle at any time to a place of your choice as I am retired. Please let me know . Thanks

As to the originality of the stock & buttplate we all know they are numbered with the receiver. My 32R GrD (1907) has the same stock & butt with #s. Check it out.
