Hi, folks, I've been following this site for a while but only signed up recently after inheriting a Model 8. It was once my great uncle's. His name was Pete Boyer and lived in Altona, NY. Long ago, he used this rifle to take down what was at the time the largest bear brought down by a hunter in NY state. He had a newspaper clipping of the recording of his kill, but unfortunately we've never found it since he shared it with us back in 1968. He passed the gun on to my dad who passed away in July 2024. My brothers and I agreed to sell off my dad's gun collection. The Model 8 is listed for $800 on consignment at Pioneer Valley Arms in East Longmeadow, MA. Here is the link to their used inventory: https://pioneervalleyarms.com/used/ They don't have images of their inventory, so I'm including what I have of the rifle here. Since I'm limited to 3 images per message, I've loaded three of seven images in this message and the additional images in the two following replies. Each will contain two images.
I based the price on the research I did on various sites including Blue Book. I think $800 is fair, but if you all think it's off the mark, let me know. It's an awesome rifle. I love the mechanics of it. If my wife were agreeable, I'd get a gun permit and keep it, but such is not the case. Happy wife, happy life. Thanks everyone.
