Hello Gunners,

Post by echo1 »

Glad to make my way here with some legitimate cred,'48ish M81 in .35 REM, William's rear, Lyman hooded globe front, checkered wrist & forearm. I have/had other JMB designs, A5s (Sweet 16, Mag 12 & light 12), and a few 1911s. I humped an M8 in .30REM my first couple deer seasons in the Sierra as a yoot. I'm mostly a milsurp C&R kinda guy. Been at it for a few decades. Plan to hang around a spell. Here she is with a couple pieces of other iron of mine. PAX

Doc,
I finally quit buying any inexpensive Chinese SKS (not many these days) and doing evil thing to them and started upping the quality of what I went after, Hakim, Russian steel, FN49. I'd been after an M8 but happened on this M81 right after I sold an Albanian SKS, so I just swapped ducats for the .35REM. My bud whose .30 I carried, has a .25, .30 and 300 Savage. Unfortunately. I'm in a no lead state and won't be hunting with it. I'd always lusted after one in .35 because of the historical nature of them and a JMB design. PAX

.358 bullets are available in Copper if you hand load.

Don't reload yet, I've got a Lyman All American 4 station turret and dies for my primary calibers. I'm running a '52 Savage 99F in .308 and have bimetal for that already. But while ammo was cheaper, (before the Ukraine war), I'd bought bulk every quarter for a couple decades. PAX
