Montrose gun auction

Post by fatwilly »

I was at todays Montrose , GA, gun auction and they had a M81 in .300 Savage. Fair condition, looked to have never been cleaned until it was sent to the auction. Scratches, some surface rust, a firearm that was lacking in routine maintainance. It sold for $400 plus buyer and seller premium made the final cost about $600. It wouldn't have cleaned up enough to make it a $600 gun.

Amazing. Any idea why it went for so much in that condition?
