Spring Hogs
Myself and another guy tried to get a hog in daylight with our Rem's, his an 8 and I had the 81. It didn't work out. We switched rifles for the afternoon. I used a .50 cal muzzleloader that I made last year. At 60 yds the bullet went right through the sow and she dropped where she stood. I guess I'm BBQ'in on Sunday!

...and I hear that TX BBQ & BBQ sauce is something to die for! Good shooting.
Though defensive violence will always be “a sad necessity” in the eyes of men of principle, it would be still more unfortunate if wrongdoers should dominate just men. - St. Augustine

Re: Spring Hogs
We saw about 60 - 80 hogs. There were two groups of 25-30 and about 15 encounters with singles. Just about every sow had four or five little ones running with her. The one I shot was one of three sows that did not have shoats with it.
