Model 8 in upcoming movie!

Rarely do these rifles get on the big screen. Here's a screenshot from the upcoming Johnny Depp movie "Public Enemies" based on the life of John Dillinger.

There is a scene in the movie "Ride the High Country" of one of the Hammond brothers firing a Model 8 across a valley at Steve Judd and companions. Good flick.

I love Sam Peckinpah movies. Too bad he's not around to do a remake of "Ride the High Country".

Pretty darn good movie. The wife even liked it. A good amount of model 8 time, but I didn't see one fired. Would have liked to see the old horse in action!
There were several model 11 shotguns on screen too. Thompsons ruled the day, but there was a couple 1907 winchesters, they were even mentioned by caliber as being part of the FBI unit's equipment - "351 Winchester autoloading rifles."

This really could have been a 3 hour movie and not been long enough. There are a few insignifigant historical inaccuracies, but pretty good overall.

I would recommend seeing it in the theater to get the full sound effects.

I am posting the trailer, the Model 8 is used by Christian Bale(Melvin Purvis) The man that took Dillinger down. It looks like a great move full of great guns it on my list to watch for sure and not just because it has my top rifle in it.......enjoy the trailer
