Looks relatively OK ,but the buttplate may have been changed. Blueing also looks suspect to me,but it may just be the lighting @camera used. I agree it is good for that small amount but still has a few days left. I've got 3 -30/30 rem-8 s, so I prolly won't bid. But for any member without one it is well worth your time in my opinion. John Henwood states clearly in a letter I have from him, that he believes they are less commonly seen than the 25/35 units---roger

Is there any company that still makes .30-30 Remington ammunition?

The original Remington 30-30 was changed to the Remington 30 a long time ago. It is my understanding that Remington made the change so as not to confuse their ammunition with the Winchester 30-30 cartridges. The Remington cartrige size did not change only the nomenclature of the ammunition. The 30 caliber is no longer manufactured and hasn't been for several decades. However, you can still find dies for reloading and there are a few places that you can buy reloaded ammunition. Check some of the other postings on the forum to get names and places. There are some forum members that do reloading and they may be able to help you in getting some ammo. I don't recall them at this time.

Places like Buffalo Arms sell hard to get or obsolete ammo like the .30 Remington. I bought some of theirs in .32 Rem to decide if I would shoot it enough to bother setting up to reload. You could also hunt the gun auction sites for old factory ammo.

Reeds ammunition and gads also make the old odd ball stuff. Ive purchased from Buffalo and these to and have been pleased with all 3.

I was examining the "30-30 REM" engraved on the barrel jacket of my 1907 Model 8 with a magnifying glass today, and I was astonished at how each numeral is exactly identically engraved as the previous numeral. Also, the guide lines for the engraver to follow, so the engraving is straight are still visible. The remington engravers must have been quite the artists.
