Reloading for the Model 8 in .32 Rem

Post by texassako »

I finally got around to loading some initial work ups for the old gal. Hornady FTX bullets and IMR 3031 and Leverevolution powders. I am hoping to replicate the accuracy I was getting with Hornady's Leverevolution ammo in my .35 Rem Model 81, and is the reasoning behind my bullet and powder choice. The 3031 is for comparison, and pretty much filled the cases. I needed something to shoot during the cool down time while fireforming 100 pcs of .30-40 Krag Improved brass in a Martini; so hopefully I can work in some range time this week. I threw a pic in to show the difference between it and the Buffalo Arms ammo I used before deciding I might shoot it enough to bother reloading. I think it looks kind of cute with the little case and chubby, pointy bullet.

I've had good success with leverevolution powder@hornady ftx bullets. I killed two deer with two different loadings last yr. For the 32 rem. Caliber. Try 34 gr,34.5 gr.,35 gr.,@35.5gr.of LVR w/ the165 gr. Ftx in.321 or 32 Cal. These are actually for the win.32 special rounds.Try 2.550" c.o.l.
Good luck, Roger
