Major John W. Hession story, September, American Rifleman
The September 2012 issue of American Rifle has a feature article concerning the life and career of Major John W. Hession, his 1903 Springfield rifle and its donation for Home Guard use during Englands darkest day during WWII. The rifle was returned after the war and is now on display in NRA's Museum. Of special interest to members of this forum is that Remington designed and built a limited number of the Full- Stocked Match Rifle for and used by Major Hession. In addition the article provides an in depth view of Englands experience with misguided firearms control laws.
