My 81
My 81
About 6 weeks ago I picked up a nice Model 81 in 300 savage, it came to me as you see it in the pics. I was able to shoot 3" groups at 100m with some factory ammo after some trail and error with the peep. I really like it but need some practice with the redfield peep on her.

Re: My 81
Congrats on your purchase. It looks pretty good from the pics you posted. I've had a few red field peeps ,including my grandpa's Marlin 39. They work fine , but are a little touchy to get adjusted. But once they're done they tend to stay where you want them to. I'm still using one for a rem m-8/81 on the Browning Auto 5 deer slug gun I hunt with during shotgun season here in Iowa. It had to be tapped for it but that's what I wanted to use and it was a postwar standard sixteen that i only paid 350.00 for. That 300 Savage caliber is a real thumper. It'll kill almost anything in North America. Almost anything. Good luck with it, and beware of the dreadedJackitis .
Thanks for your time,

Nice shooter, 3" out of these is real good!
Disease remedy: plenty of rest in front of the confuser viewing gun-porn. OK... not a remedy but plenty fun, what looking for that 35, then the 32, 30, 25, and of course there are the 14, 141, 11, A5, and don't forget the 51 - you better keep kicking, it's gonna take ya awhile.
